Paralelní Polis(평행 폴리스)

Václav Benda는 1978년 Charter 77 주변에 parallel polis를 제안했다. 정권 개혁을 기다리지 말고 독립적인 교육·문화·정보 구조를 세우자는 뜻이었다. Prague project는 이름과 영감을 빌렸을 뿐 반체제 개념을 발명하거나 Charter 77 전체를 대표하지 않았다. [Václav Benda — Parallel Polis] [Radio Prague International — Ztohoven opens the institute]

Ztohoven 예술 collective는 hackers와 Slovakia의 Progressbar와 협력한 뒤 2014년 10월 Prague-Holešovice Dělnická 43의 검은 건물을 열었다. Paralelní Polis는 nonprofit, 장소, 사회 실험이었지만 주소나 community 참여가 모든 활동의 저자를 뜻하지 않았다. 1층 Bitcoin Coffee 외에 Paper Hub coworking, maker 또는 hackerspace, Institute of Cryptoanarchy hall이 있었다. 강연, workshop, hackathon, 도서관, 책상이 기술과 일상을 이었다. 각 brand와 operation은 별도 역할을 가졌다. 카페는 오랫동안 crypto payment만 받고 초보자의 wallet 생성과 첫 결제를 도왔다. Bitcoin은 decentralised technology의 실용적 입구였지 익명성, 가격 안정, 모든 다른 crypto project의 가치를 증명하지 않았다. 결제 규칙은 나중에 바뀌었다. Institute of Cryptoanarchy는 Tor, encryption, anonymisation, decentralized networks, censorship, digital freedom을 다뤘다. Tool은 결과가 아니다. Hackers Congress Paralelní Polis는 2014년부터 자유, 기술, decentralisation, cryptoanarchy의 연례 flagship event였고 2024년 판이 건물에서 마지막이었다. Congress, organiser, speakers, 연중 Polis 운영은 다르며 출연은 지지를 뜻하지 않는다. [e15 — Paralelní Polis ends in its existing form] [Hackers Congress Paralelní Polis 2024]

이름과 open model은 Bratislava, Vienna, Barcelona 등 community에 영감을 줬다. 각 website는 지역 community와 program을 설명한다. 같은 이름은 하나의 법인, 자금, 경영 또는 Prague의 지속적 통제를 입증하지 않는다. [Paralelná Polis Bratislava] [Parallel Polis Vienna]

2024년 10월 기존 형태의 Paralelní Polis와 건물 내 마지막 HCPP가 끝났다. Second Culture가 coworking operator가 되고 Bitcoin Coffee는 일부로 남았으며 card payment가 추가됐다. 비영리단체, 원 project, 새 operator, 건물은 이후 구분해야 한다. [e15 — Paralelní Polis ends in its existing form]

Second Culture는 2026년 3월 종료했고 뒤이은 보도에서 건물은 비워져 gallery로 계획됐다. Dělnická 43을 영업 중인 Paralelní Polis로 안내하면 안 된다. Community, 사상, successor event는 다른 곳에서 이어질 수 있지만 각각 최신 확인이 필요하다. [e15 — The former Polis building in 2026] [Kryptomagazin — Second Culture closure]
