Taproot Assets

Taproot Assets는 처음 Taro로 발표됐고 Taproot output을 asset commitments의 Bitcoin anchor로 쓴다. Asset의 전체 rule과 witness data는 Bitcoin global state가 아니며 protocol participant가 직접 보관·검증한다. [1]

발행은 minting transaction을 만들고 그 transaction이 소비한 outpoint가 genesis point와 unique identity 일부가 된다. Transfer 때 이전 witness를 하나 이상의 Taproot output에 recommit하고 필요한 proof를 수신자에게 전달한다. [2]

Sparse Merkle Tree는 한 output 속 asset branch를 선택적으로 증명하고 Merkle-Sum Tree는 수량 보존을 검사한다. 하나의 Bitcoin UTXO가 여러 asset에 commit해도 full node는 이름, balance, transfer rule을 알지 못한다. [1]

수신자는 genesis output부터의 lineage를 Bitcoin transaction과 대조한다. Universe는 proofs와 metadata를 index·배포할 수 있지만 invalid asset을 valid로 만들지 못한다. Client는 다른 Universe나 자체 store와 비교할 수 있다. [1]

Taproot Assets address에는 asset ID 또는 group key, amount, key와 proof delivery 정보가 들어간다. Group key는 issuer가 후속 issuance를 더할 수 있는 group을 나타낼 수 있어 fixed 또는 expandable supply는 개별 asset별로 판단해야 한다. [3]

공개 tapd implementation은 mainnet과 현재 v0.8.4 계열을 지원하지만 repository는 여전히 alpha software라고 밝힌다. Command나 mainnet switch가 있다고 완전한 backup, compatibility, production safety가 보장되지는 않는다. [5]

Recovery에는 Bitcoin seed보다 더 많은 것이 필요하다. tapd는 anchor output을 안전하게 spend하고 asset history를 입증하는 tweak와 client data를 보관한다. Database나 proofs를 잃으면 asset access를 잃고 구성에 따라 같은 output의 BTC도 위험해질 수 있다. [2]

Name, ticker와 자유로운 metadata는 경제적 신뢰성을 입증하지 않는다. 수락 전에 asset ID 또는 group key, genesis, 전체 proof, supply rule, issuer control, anchor transaction status와 정확한 client version을 확인해야 한다. [4]
