Expected revenue per unit of mining hashrate

Hashprice turns mining conditions into expected gross daily revenue from a given hashrate. Check currency, units, fee methodology and your own operating costs when comparing figures.

Hashprice measures expected Bitcoin mining revenue per unit of Hashrate over a period, usually a day. It is neither the price of a mining machine nor an operator’s net profit.

USD/PH/day commonly means dollars from running 1 PH/s for a full day. It is not revenue from a single petahash; 1 PH/s equals 1000 TH/s. [Luxor — Hashprice methodology]

BTC revenue depends on block subsidy, transaction fees and difficulty. Other things equal, higher difficulty reduces revenue per hashrate; a higher BTC/USD rate changes its dollar value, not the number of BTC itself. [Luxor — Hashprice methodology]

Luxor describes a trailing average of fees over 144 blocks. That is not exactly 24 hours: blocks arrive irregularly. Compare measurement timestamps and averaging periods when comparing indices. [Luxor — Hashprice methodology]

At the same illustrative 50 USD and efficiency of 20 J/TH, 1 PH/s consumes 480 kWh over 24 hours. Gross revenue per energy unit is about 0.104 USD/kWh before other costs and cooling consumption. [Hashrate Index — Energy-adjusted hashprice]

Separate electricity, pool fees and other operating expenses from gross revenue. Include the hardware investment when assessing payback; today’s Hashprice cannot simply be extended across a year without difficulty, fee and exchange-rate scenarios. [Braiins — Mining profitability inputs]
