Braiins Deck

Braiins announced Deck on 10.9.2025 as a standalone desktop display. The historical preorder and shipping plan are not today's offer. The product FAQ explicitly rules out its own hashing; displayed hashrate belongs to monitored mining, not Deck performance. It must not be confused with Braiins Manager or mining hardware. The shop lists a 1280×480 display, USB-C PD 3.0 and an adapter rated at least 33 W with a 3 A cable, both excluded from the basic package. This is a power-supply requirement, not measured continuous consumption. The shop lists 193×77×101 mm, the presentation page 194×86×77 mm; this discrepancy remains unresolved and the actual version must be checked before installation. The wizard first uses the Braiins Deck Wi-Fi network and portal 10.0.0.21; after joining the home network, administration uses the address displayed on the device. The initial address is therefore not a guaranteed permanent address. Documentation permits setting a password and notes that SSH uses the same password; reviewing the page does not verify a particular device's security. Documentation distinguishes widgets rendered on the device from remote-widget images generated in the cloud. They can be combined and scenes cycled. Local clocks can work offline, but the local label alone does not guarantee an offline source for all data. For personal Braiins Pool statistics, the guide requires a Read-only profile with web API access enabled and its token. General widgets do not require a pool account. Read access is not permission to change mining or withdraw rewards; the token nevertheless exposes account information. The Image widget fetches an accessible PNG or JPEG image over HTTP(S). Required dimensions are 317×238, 638×238, 638×480 or 1280×480 depending on widget size. A similar aspect ratio alone is insufficient. The refresh interval should match image changes; fetching a static file more often supplies no new data and increases traffic. The system guide distinguishes a reboot, a soft reset that erases settings while retaining firmware, and a power-up factory reset that also restores the original firmware. These are different operations. Wi-Fi can be reconfigured without a factory reset. At review, the BraiinsForge/bmc-main README distinguishes release 26.02.1 from forthcoming software requiring manual installation of compatible firmware. For this new branch it lists missing Braiins Pool and Bitcoin Mining Data widgets and fewer simultaneously active widgets. A public repository therefore does not prove parity with shipped firmware.
