Bitrefill

Imagine a shop where you want to buy something, but bitcoin is not an option at checkout. If a suitable gift card is available, you can buy it from Bitrefill and use its code at that shop. You pay for the voucher first and the goods later. The terms dated 21.10.2026 name AIRFILL PREPAID AB as the contractual counterparty for gift cards and mobile top-ups. A brand appearing in the catalogue does not mean the retailer accepts bitcoin directly. The service connects different ways of paying; it does not replace the retailer’s rules. [1]

Before sending payment, select the right country and read the particular product’s conditions. A card from the same brand for another market may not work with your account. Currency, account country and IP address—the internet address your connection presents—can matter. Recognising the logo or spotting a good price is therefore not enough. Bitrefill’s help expressly rules out refunds for failing to meet redemption restrictions. Checking the region before buying is much easier than dealing with an unusable code afterward. [2]

A card may initially arrive sealed, meaning its code has not been revealed. Displaying it changes the state to unsealed, and that step cannot be reversed. This describes a digital product’s status, not physical packaging. Bitrefill may allow a refund for a mistakenly bought card whose code remains hidden, but does not guarantee one. Once a valid code has been delivered and revealed, simply changing your mind is not enough for a refund. A top-up sent to the wrong phone number cannot be cancelled either, because it is credited directly to the number supplied. [3] [4]

At checkout you choose a payment method. Bitrefill lists Bitcoin and Lightning Network, a network for fast bitcoin payments; the available options for your particular order are what matter. Your wallet must support the selected method, and you need to use the correct network and requested amount, including displayed costs. Sending payment, receiving confirmation, getting the voucher and redeeming it are separate steps. A payment confirmation therefore does not mean you have successfully used the voucher. Other providers’ systems can also delay delivery. [5] [1]

If a purchase qualifies for a refund, its denomination matters too. For cryptocurrency returned to a wallet, the help page uses the quantity originally paid, not the voucher’s present price in ordinary money. Exchange-rate movements can therefore give the same bitcoin amount a different cash value. The terms separately address transaction costs that are not returned or are deducted. Request an eligible refund within 30 days of the transaction; later requests are discretionary and any refund takes the form of a Bitrefill gift card. An invalid code or one already redeemed before delivery is different from a change of mind. [6] [1]

Bitrefill Store Credit lets you prepay future purchases in BTC, EUR or USD. Here, credit does not mean a loan: it is money paid in advance for use at Bitrefill. Even a balance labelled BTC is not bitcoin in your own wallet, where private keys let you control transfers. It is a claim to purchases from the provider. The terms describe EUR and USD credit as nonrefundable; BTC credit refunds are exceptional, discretionary and carry a fee. A service balance should therefore not be confused with freely accessible personal savings. [1]

A verified account can offer higher buying limits, but verification is not always optional. Bitrefill reserves the right to request identity checks. These are commonly called KYC: the provider establishes who is using its service. The process includes identification and a liveness check, in which a camera checks that a real person is present; address evidence may also be required. Paying with bitcoin does not itself guarantee anonymity. Being able to make some purchases without a basic account does not mean the service will never ask for more information. [7]

When saving a voucher for later, distinguish expiry from freezing. A revealed code follows its issuer’s validity rules. Bitrefill can separately freeze an unrevealed product a year after purchase and Store Credit a year after the last login. Reinstatement on request depends on feasibility, such as whether the issuer still operates. For a cryptocurrency balance, the reinstated quantity is based on its USD value when frozen, not automatically on the original bitcoin amount. A continuing claim is therefore not a promise that every code lasts forever or that a BTC balance always returns unchanged. [1]
