Paying Czech-crown bills from a bitcoin balance

Adam Chvaja’s Czech service uses deposited bitcoin to make bank payments in Czech crowns, connecting BTC with ordinary bills for rent, utilities or internet access.

BitPlatby.cz is a service for paying obligations in Czech crowns using funds deposited in BTC. The provider holds the bitcoin, converts the required amount into CZK and sends a bank payment to the recipient. It is a custodial service, not a wallet whose keys are held solely by the user.

Your landlord sends bank details, the electricity supplier issues an invoice and your internet provider expects a regular transfer. None of them has to accept bitcoin. BitPlatby.cz addresses this situation: you deposit BTC and the service arranges payment in Czech crowns. The recipient does not need to install a Bitcoin wallet. The project is connected to the educational website NaBitcoinu.cz; Adam Chvaja lists both among his projects. [1] [3]

According to the website, bitcoin is sent to an assigned address and appears in the service account as BTC credit. The user then enters the recipient, amount and date. The website offers one-off payments, standing orders and scanning of bank-payment QR codes. A QR code merely carries payment details here: it does not automatically become a Bitcoin address or a Lightning Invoice. The provider handles conversion into crowns and the bank transfer. [1]

The terms name 77 Company, s.r.o., company ID 02944294, as the provider and explicitly assign it custody of users’ funds. A balance on the screen is therefore different from BTC in your own wallet. Withdrawals and payments depend on the service being available and carrying out the transfer. That is the practical distinction between a custodial service and Self-Custody; having a separate deposit address does not change it. [2]

For a bill with a fixed CZK amount, the BTC required depends on the exchange rate when it is processed. A sufficient balance and the service’s current fee also matter. The terms specify a monthly fee according to the price list. Before relying on it for an important payment, check the execution rules and expected arrival date; scheduling an order is not the same as settling the bill. [2] [1]

The service aims to let users pay Czech-crown obligations from BTC. The final part of the payment still travels through a bank transfer. Privacy also has limits: the service knows the details needed to execute the payment and its terms allow it to request proof of the source of funds. The marketing label no-KYC therefore does not establish anonymity or guarantee that requirements will remain unchanged. [2] [1]

NaBitcoinu.cz describes several ways to pay in everyday life: merchants accepting BTC directly, payment cards and bank payments. BitPlatby.cz belongs to the last group. It may simplify a particular task, but it introduces a provider entrusted with both funds and execution of the order. This Atlas entry explains the model using public materials; it is not based on a test deposit or a custody audit. [4]
